Pcdata wird seine Distrib WMS Lösung inklusive Put to Light System implementieren

Bakehuset is Norway’s largest bakery group with 10 bakeries. Pcdata will implement its Distrib WMS solution including Put to Light technology in the final 3 bakeries before the end of 2016. This will complete the roll out of Distrib Systems in all Bakehuset bakeries. Pcdata proudly announces that another leading Scandinavian bakery group is fully standardized on its Distrib Bakery WMS Solution.

Bakehuset AS, Norway’s largest bakery, is 100% owned by NorgesGruppen, amongst other activities Norway’s market leader in grocery stores. The bakery chain operates 10 bakeries that cover large parts of Norway. Their products can be found in grocery stores, convenience stores and gas stations. They also supply bread and bakery products to canteens, kindergartens, hospitals and nursing homes.

Up until the end of 2015, the bakery chain was known as Bakers AS.

The bakery group already successfully installed the Distrib Put- and Pick to Light solution in 7 bakeries, however for 3 locations, implementing the system was put on hold due to a number of internal strategic developments. The remaining 3 sites in Haugesund, Nordfjordeid and Trondheim were subject to further evaluation and decision-making.

Distrib Put to Light System

In all 3 sites, a Distrib Put to Light system will be implemented, with overhead displays installed on each despatch location. As a standard, the system will dynamically assign customer delivery points to dispatching positions on a daily basis, maximizing floor space usage and minimizing walking distances for picking staff.

For special products, a separate area will be allocated where a so-called ‘’Distrib Shop-Despatch’’ solution will be installed; instead of traveling with the product along customer locations, here customer orders will be completed sequentially, with static product locations equipped with a light display. Once orders for special products per customer are picked, the customer-specific stack will be merged with the customer-stacks that are created in the Put to Light areas.

Each system will have its own Distrib Performance Manager module, which not only allows the bakery management to monitor progress and measure performance, but also supports in dynamically scheduling labour based on industry parameters and actual daily orders.

The site implementations will be supported by Bakehuset Distrib super-users to help local staff getting acquainted with the new procedures as quickly as possible. Site implementations are scheduled to be completed before the end of November.
